A lab-grown diamond is chemically, physically, and optically identical to a mined diamond. It is pure carbon in a crystal structure (10 on the Mohs hardness scale), produced in a controlled environment using the CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) method. No gemological test can distinguish a lab-grown from a mined diamond without specialized equipment.

Yes. Every diamond we sell is independently graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) — one of the two largest gemological certification bodies in the world. The IGI certificate number for your stone can be verified at igi.world at any time. We do not sell uncertified or self-graded stones.

The IGI report includes the stone's grade on all 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat), an assessment of fluorescence, proportions, and finish grades, and a laser-inscribed certificate number on the girdle of the stone. The physical certificate ships with your order.

Lab-grown diamonds currently cost 60–80% less than mined equivalents of the same grade. The price difference is driven by lower supply chain costs, not lower quality. The diamond itself is identical.

All jewelry pieces are available in four metal options: 10kt Gold, 14kt Gold, 18kt Gold, and Platinum. Metal selection is done at the time of purchase via the variant selector on each product page.

Ring size is captured as a text input at the product page — it is not a dropdown variant. Enter your US ring size (e.g. 6.5) before adding to cart. We confirm your size before production begins. See our Ring Size Guide for measurement instructions.

Standard shipping takes 5–7 business days within the United States. All orders ship free of charge. Custom and special-order pieces have longer production lead times, which are communicated at the time of order.

Yes. Every order ships free, no minimum required. There is no threshold to meet.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, in original condition, and returned with the original IGI certificate and packaging. Custom-designed and engraved pieces are final sale. Contact support@thelabdiamondco.com to initiate a return.

Yes. Submit a custom design inquiry via the Custom Design page. Include the stone specification, metal preference, budget range, and any reference images. We respond within 24 hours and source an IGI-certified stone to your specification before production starts.

Payment options are processed through Stripe. We do not currently offer installment financing through the site. Contact us to discuss payment arrangements for higher-value orders.

Yes. All payment processing is handled by Stripe — a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store your card details on our servers.
